Chandigarh, 02 November 2024: The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) is set to launch a specialized preventive clinic aimed at addressing cardiovascular risk through a holistic approach to heart health.
Scheduled to open at the Advanced Cardiac Centre on Saturday, this new clinic will offer a range of services, including dietary counseling, psychological support, and physical activity guidance, all designed to manage and mitigate cardiovascular risks.
PGIMER Director Dr. Vivek Lal will inaugurate the clinic, which will be staffed by a team of specialists from various disciplines. Dr. Neelam, a cardiologist, will lead the clinic with support from Dr. Krishan K Soni from the psychiatry department, Dr. Kapil Goel from community medicine, and Navneet from dietetics.
“This clinic represents a significant step forward in our commitment to preventive healthcare,” Dr. Neelam said, noting the initiative’s focus on early intervention and comprehensive assessments. “We hope to empower individuals to take control of their heart health.”
Operating every Wednesday and Saturday, the clinic aims to provide a well-rounded, multidisciplinary approach to cardiovascular care. Alongside heart risk assessments, patients will receive education on lifestyle modifications and psychological support, which Dr. Neelam emphasized as critical components in preventing heart disease.
This collaborative setup reflects PGIMER’s dedication to equipping individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to safeguard their cardiovascular health.
