Kharar, 10 November 2024: Punjab Police arrested two key operatives of Canada-based gangster-turned-terrorist Arsh Dalla’s gang, who are allegedly involved in the murder of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau last month.

The arrests were made in Kharar, Mohali, following a joint operation by the state’s Special Operation Cell (SSOC), the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), and Faridkot police.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the breakthrough, stating, “In a major operation, SSOC Mohali, in collaboration with AGTF and Faridkot Police, apprehended two key operatives of Arsh Dalla involved in the murder of Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau in Faridkot.”

Police also seized two firearms from the suspects.

Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau, also known as Bhodi, was shot dead on October 9 while returning home from a gurdwara in Faridkot. Police had earlier identified Arsh Dalla as the mastermind behind the murder. They also alleged that the killing was carried out under the instructions of Amritpal Singh, currently detained in Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act.

Further investigation revealed that the arrested operatives were involved in another murder. “The accused also killed Jaswant Singh Gill in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on November 7 under directions from Arsh Dalla,” DGP Yadav said.

After committing the crime in Madhya Pradesh, the suspects returned to Punjab, where they were apprehended near Kharar. The arrests have also led to the prevention of another potential target killing in the state, Yadav added.
