Patiala, 02 December 2024: The Patiala Police have cracked the murder case of Navneet Singh, a 32-year-old man, who was shot dead two days ago at a crematorium. SSP Patiala, Dr. Nanak Singh IPS, revealed that two accused, Ranveer Singh alias Mithu and his accomplice Malkit Singh, were arrested.
The police recovered a .32-bore pistol, another weapon, and the vehicle used in the crime. SSP Nanak Singh disclosed that the murder stemmed from a property dispute involving a hotel that Hardeep Singh had transferred to Navneet Singh, making him a target.
The accused have a criminal history dating back to the 1980s and 1990s, with multiple cases registered against them. The SSP added that this was not the first attempt on Navneet Singh’s life.
The investigation revealed that the victim acted as a mouthpiece for the accused in some dealings, leading to strained relations. Both accused have been remanded to custody, and further investigations are underway.
