Abohar, December 30, 2024: The Punjab bandh called by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha has gained widespread support, with shopkeepers backing the farmers’ protest. Farmers, led by Jagjit Singh Dallewal, continue their sit-in demanding action on unresolved issues, vowing to intensify their struggle until their demands are met.
The bandh has caused significant disruption to transportation, with trains and buses out of service. Passengers face mounting difficulties, with many left stranded. Rickshaw drivers, who rely on ferrying passengers for their livelihood, lamented the lack of work, forcing some to return home empty-handed.
Passengers have expressed frustration over the blockade, acknowledging farmers’ grievances while struggling to navigate the logistical challenges caused by the bandh.
