Punjab By-Elections: Giddarbaha Leads in Turnout

Chandigarh, November 20, 2024: Voting for the by-elections in four Punjab assembly seats—Barnala, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabewal, and Giddarbaha—began at 7 am today and continued throughout the day.

The Election Commission reported a 59.67 percent overall voter turnout across the four constituencies by 5:30 pm. Giddarbaha recorded the highest participation at 78.1 percent, followed by 59.8 percent in Dera Baba Nanak, 52.7 percent in Barnala, and 48.01 percent in Chabewal.

The results are expected to be announced in the coming days.
