CHANDIGARH, Oct. 10, 2024: The Meteorological Department has announced that the weather in Punjab and Chandigarh will remain clear for the next five days, with an increase in daytime temperatures expected.
Following the departure of the monsoon on October 2, the region has experienced 34 percent less rainfall in October, recording only 2.2 mm compared to the typical 3.7 mm.
Despite predictions of two active Western Disturbances between October 6 and 10, which brought the possibility of rain, many districts reported no precipitation.
The weather is expected to remain clear until at least October 17, with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to stay consistent.
Faridkot recorded the highest temperature in the state at 35.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in Pathankot, near the Himachal Pradesh border, dropped to 18.4 degrees.
