Chandigarh, February 4: Punjab Police on Tuesday introduced a revamped system for passport verification aimed at providing transparent, citizen-centric services.

According to reports, the new system will allow applicants to receive pre-verification SMS notifications and submit feedback via post-verification SMS.

Special Director General of Police (Special DGP) Gurpreet Kaur Deo mentioned that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to streamline and improve service delivery.

Effective February 5, 2025, applicants will receive an SMS from ‘PBSANJ’ with details of the officer conducting the verification, along with the date and time of the visit.

“This update is designed to minimize uncertainty and ensure applicants are informed throughout the process.”

Besides, applicants will be able to provide feedback through a post-verification SMS that includes a link to a feedback form.

Special DGP Deo noted that the feedback mechanism would help the police enhance service quality and address any concerns raised by citizens promptly.
