Chandigarh, October 22, 2024 — As Punjab prepares for elections on November 13 in four assembly seats, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has officially announced its candidate for the Barnala Vidhan Sabha by-election. The party has selected Gobind Singh Sandhu, who will represent the Barnala seat.
Gobind Singh Sandhu is the brother of party president and former MP Simranjit Singh Mann.
He has been actively involved in politics for several years and played a major role in the 2022 Lok Sabha Sangrur by-election, where he campaigned for his brother, contributing to Simranjit Singh Mann’s victory.
Sandhu has a long history of engagement within the Barnala Vidhan Sabha constituency, positioning him as a familiar face among voters in the region. The party’s announcement comes as candidates gear up for a competitive by-election season in Punjab.
