Mumbai/Chandigarh, 18 October, 2024: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received a fresh threat via WhatsApp, demanding an extortion payment of Rs 5 crore to resolve his ongoing conflict with imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The Mumbai traffic police were alerted to the alarming message, which suggested that failure to comply could endanger Khan’s life.

According to a statement from the Mumbai police, “A threatening message has been received on the WhatsApp number of Mumbai Traffic Police, demanding Rs 5 crore from actor Salman Khan to end his long-standing rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi.” The sender, who claims to have ties to Bishnoi’s gang, did not mince words in the message. They warned, “Don’t take it lightly; if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique.”

The Mumbai Police have taken this threat seriously and are actively investigating the case. This incident comes on the heels of the shocking murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, heightening concerns over gang-related violence in the city.

Earlier this week, the Mumbai Police issued a look-out circular (LOC) for two suspects, Shiv Kumar Gautam and Zeeshan Akhtar, who are believed to be involved in Siddique’s assassination.

The threat against Khan highlights the escalating tensions between high-profile individuals and organized crime in Mumbai, prompting authorities to bolster their security measures.

Baba Siddique and Salman Khan were known to have a cordial relationship, particularly due to their ties in the Bollywood and political circles. Siddique was a well-known figure in Mumbai, often involved in social and political events, and he reportedly hosted various high-profile gatherings that included Bollywood celebrities. Salman Khan attended Siddique’s Iftar parties, which were popular in the city, reflecting a friendly rapport between them.
