Mumbai, 08 November 2024— Bollywood star Salman Khan has received yet another threat, this time over a song allegedly linking his name to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. It marks the fifth such threat in recent weeks, adding to the mounting security concerns around the actor.
Mumbai’s traffic control room received the latest threat message around midnight on Thursday.
The message referenced a song that supposedly mentions both Khan and Bishnoi, warning of severe consequences for the songwriter involved.
“The songwriter’s condition will be such that he will no longer be able to write songs. If Salman Khan has the courage, he should protect them,” the threat read.
This incident is part of an ongoing series of threats connected to Lawrence Bishnoi and his associates, allegedly stemming from grievances related to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case involving Khan.
The Bishnoi community, deeply attached to the endangered blackbuck, has been vocal about their discontent with the actor since the incident.
In a recent development, a 32-year-old man, identified as Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, was arrested in Karnataka’s Haveri district for making previous threats against Khan.
Originating from Jalore, Rajasthan, Bhikha Ram was transferred to Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for further investigation on Wednesday.
During questioning, he reportedly expressed admiration for Lawrence Bishnoi, whom he referred to as his “idol.” Bhikha Ram allegedly intended to use a ₹5 crore ransom demand to construct a temple for the Bishnoi community.
Earlier, Mumbai Police are also handling a separate high-profile threat case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan.
The Bandra Police received a call demanding ₹50 lakh in extortion and issuing a death threat to Shah Rukh Khan.
According to reports, the call was traced to a phone registered under Raipur-based lawyer Faizan Khan, who reported his phone stolen on November 2. Faizan Khan has claimed that the threat call was part of a conspiracy against him.
