Ludhiana/ Chandigarh, 02 November 2024: A state-level celebration is underway in Ludhiana today to mark Baba Vishwakarma Ji Day. The event is being held at Baba Vishwakarma Bhavan on GT Road, Millerganj, and will feature Punjab’s Minister of Tourism and Culture Affairs, Investment Promotion, Labour, Hospitality, Industry and Commerce, Rural and Panchayat, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, as a key speaker.
The program, beginning at 11:30 a.m., will gather many business leaders, followed by an address from Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Sondh. Sondh, an MLA from Khanna constituency and former Aam Aadmi Party worker, recently assumed his cabinet role in the Punjab government. Inspired to enter politics after reading Swaraj by Arvind Kejriwal post-Anna Hazare movement, Sondh has quickly ascended within the party.
Yesterday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann extended greetings to Punjab’s citizens for the Prakash Utsav of Lord Vishwakarma. In his Vishwakarma Day message, Mann praised Lord Vishwakarma as the creator and master of all machinery, symbolizing the spirit of hard work among Indian artisans and laborers.
Mann encouraged artisans and laborers to continue their dedicated efforts to build a stronger state and nation, which he called a true tribute to Lord Vishwakarma’s legacy.
Baba Vishwakarma is regarded as the divine architect and craftsman in Hindu mythology, credited with creating the universe and mastering all forms of machinery and tools. He’s often worshipped by artisans, craftsmen, and workers, especially on Vishwakarma Day, as a symbol of dedication to skill and hard work. This day is celebrated in many parts of India, including Punjab, where state-level events like the one in Ludhiana honor his legacy and encourage the values he represents in building and strengthening infrastructure.
