Amritsar, 12 December 2024: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, declared a salaryman by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, concludes his 10-day religious punishment today at Sri Muktsar Sahib. As part of the service, Badal cleaned utensils, guarded Gurdwaras, and listened to kirtan while donning a servant’s chadar.
His sentence included performing similar duties at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Sri Damdama Sahib, and Sri Fatehgarh Sahib. Following the completion of today’s service, Badal is set to visit Sri Akal Takht Sahib on Friday to pay obeisance alongside other leaders.
Sri Akal Takht Sahib has also directed the Akali Dal core committee to submit a report on the resignations of Badal and other leaders. This marks a step toward restructuring the Akali Dal’s leadership, with resignations likely to be accepted soon.
