Tarn Taran, 30 January 2025: In an encounter in Tarn Taran, police shot and injured two suspects linked to gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa.
The accused, identified as Robinjit Singh and Harpreet Singh alias Happy, were taken to the hospital, where their condition is reported to be stable.
Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav stated that the suspects opened fire while resisting arrest, prompting the police to retaliate in self-defense.
Following the encounter, authorities recovered two hand grenades, a pistol, and live cartridges from the duo.
According to police sources, the gang was allegedly operating under Landa’s instructions from abroad.
The injured suspects were admitted to the Civil Hospital, and an investigation into their network and activities is underway.
