Amritsar, October 12, 2024: A tragic murder case has emerged from the Green Field area of Amritsar, where a woman named Ritu was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband early this morning. Ritu, who had been married for 10 years and was the mother of an eight-year-old son, had been facing harassment from her in-laws during their recent visit, according to the family.
Family members of the deceased revealed that Ritu had endured abuse due to her son’s disabilities.
They alleged that her brother-in-law and sister-in-law also participated in the harassment. The family claims that the conflict at home escalated, leading to the fatal stabbing by her husband.
In a plea for justice, Ritu’s family has called for severe punishment for the culprits to prevent further violence against women.
Ritu’s young son, speaking to the media, shared his painful account, stating that his mother was regularly beaten and that he witnessed the attack this morning.
A police officer at the scene confirmed receiving reports of Ritu’s murder and stated that a case is being registered based on eyewitness statements.
“Whoever is found guilty will be taken into custody,” he assured.
