Chandigarh, 09 November 2024: Police arrested a 19-year-old Ludhiana resident, Vikramjit Singh, for allegedly snatching a woman’s gold earring near her home in Sector 44, Chandigarh.
Singh, employed as a shop helper in the city, targeted 54-year-old Sakuntla Devi, a peon at St Xavier’s School.
Devi said that Singh, riding a black motorcycle and dressed in a cream shirt and jeans, approached her from behind.
Assuming he might ask for directions, she slowed down, but he swiftly grabbed her earring and sped away.
Authorities apprehended Singh within 24 hours, charging him under Section 304-B of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
