Chandigarh/Jalandhar, March 17 — The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly reacted to the grenade attack in Raipur Rasoolpur, Jalandhar, linking it to Pakistan’s alleged retaliation against Punjab’s crackdown on drug trafficking.

AAP Lok Sabha members Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer and Malvinder Singh Kang claimed that Punjab’s anti-drug campaign, Yudh Nashian Virudh, has disrupted the supply chain of narcotics from across the border, angering Pakistan’s drug mafia.

“No one on this side even picks up drugs coming from across the border anymore,” Hayer said, adding that the issue extends beyond Punjab’s safety to national security. He criticized central agencies for lacking a coordinated response to cross-border smuggling.

Hayer also questioned the BJP’s role, citing a viral video of gangsters Shahzad Bhatti and Lawrence Bishnoi discussing their activities. He accused the BJP of granting Bishnoi special privileges in Sabarmati Jail.

Kang echoed Hayer’s claims, alleging that the attack was a Pakistani attempt to retaliate against Punjab’s anti-drug success.

He further accused the BJP of using Bishnoi for political purposes while ensuring lenient treatment for him in jail. “Despite any attempts by Pakistan or the BJP to destabilize Punjab, the government’s anti-drug campaign will continue,” Kang asserted.
