Hisar, April 16: In a chilling incident from Haryana’s Hisar district, a woman and her lover allegedly strangled her husband after he caught them in a compromising position.
Raveena, 32, and her partner Suresh, who met on Instagram, had been creating short videos and dance reels together for over a year despite her husband Praveen’s repeated objections. The duo, popular in Premnagar for their online content, reportedly ignored family warnings and continued collaborating, amassing over 34,000 followers on social media.
On March 25, Praveen, 35, walked in on the two and confronted them. In the argument that followed, Raveena and Suresh allegedly strangled him with a dupatta. Later that night, around 12:30 am, the two carried his body on a motorbike and dumped it in a drain six kilometres away from her residence.
CCTV footage later captured Raveena riding pillion with her face covered, a body wedged between the rider and her. Hours later, she returned without it.
Both accused have been arrested and sent to jail. Raveena’s six-year-old son is now in the custody of his grandfather and uncle.
The murder closely follows another gruesome case in Meerut, where a woman killed her husband, chopped the body, and sealed the remains in a drum with cement — a crime that sent shockwaves and spurred bizarre reactions, including a man marrying off his wife to her lover to “avoid a similar fate.”
