AMRITSAR, May 8 —In an intelligence-led operation, Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence unit in Amritsar has busted an international narco-smuggling module operated by foreign-based trafficker Jassa, officials said Thursday.

Two of his India-based operatives, Gurpinder Singh and Sajan, both residents of Amritsar, have been arrested.

The operation led to the recovery of 10 kg of heroin and ₹1 lakh in drug money. An FIR has been registered at Police Station SSOC, Amritsar.

Jassa, who is based abroad, is wanted in multiple cases under the NDPS and Arms Act. Police said efforts are underway to trace both the forward and backward linkages of the module.
