Rohtak, Aug. 12 — Three youths allegedly involved in a recent loot case were injured in an encounter with police on the outskirts of Rohtak late Monday night, officials said.

The injured — identified as Azad and Pushpender from Rajasthan, and a local resident — were taken to PGIMS Hospital for treatment. Police said the trio is accused of robbing a trader in Rohtak earlier this month.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team set up a naka on Sunaria Road and signaled the suspects, who were riding a motorcycle, to stop. “They resisted, leading to an exchange of fire,” an officer said. Two suspects suffered bullet wounds, while the third was injured after falling from the motorcycle during the chase.

The investigation into their role in the loot case is underway.
