Panipat, Nov 21, 2025: A major fire swept through a textile manufacturing unit in Panipat’s Israna area on Friday morning, prompting an immediate response from the Fire Department and triggering panic among workers who were inside the facility.

Officials said the blaze erupted at CRG Cotex Private Limited in Balana village shortly after the workday began. Within minutes, flames spread across the structure, consuming raw materials and finished products stored inside. Workers who noticed the fire first reportedly ran out of the building and alerted emergency services.

Fire Safety Officer Gurmail Singh said multiple teams were mobilised as soon as the department received the call. “We have sent six fire tenders to the spot,” he said, noting that firefighters were working continuously to contain the flames and prevent the blaze from spreading to adjoining areas.

Sources said the intensity of the fire made the first few minutes critical, as thick smoke billowed out of the factory complex. Firefighters used water and foam to bring the situation under control, though the exact cause of the blaze was still being assessed when reports last came in. No immediate injuries were reported, but the extent of property loss is expected to be significant.
