Chandigarh, Dec 2: DIG Harmanbir Gill, who headed the Ferozepur Range, has been shifted to the Punjab Armed Police (PAP) in Jalandhar amid ongoing controversy surrounding alleged false cases filed during the Tarn Taran bypoll.
Gill has been posted as DIG PAP Jalandhar, according to a government order issued on Monday. “The officers concerned are directed to join their new place of posting immediately,” the order said.
DIG Snehdeep Sharma has been given additional charge of the Ferozepur Range. Officials said the move comes as the department begins reviewing actions taken during the bypoll period. One senior officer, requesting anonymity, said Gill’s posting “was necessary to maintain administrative continuity.”
