SHIMLA, Dec 19 — The Una district administration on Friday issued a travel advisory urging motorists to exercise caution amid dense fog and an intensifying cold wave in Himachal Pradesh.
Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, who also chairs the District Disaster Management Authority, warned that falling temperatures could worsen fog conditions in the coming days. “Due to the continuous drop in temperature, the effect of the cold wave and fog may intensify. It is imperative to take necessary precautions for safety and protection,” he said.
Lal advised drivers to reduce speed, maintain adequate distance between vehicles and use fog lights during low visibility. He also asked motorists to follow road markings as visual guides and avoid distractions while driving.
“Do not use mobile phones or listen to loud music while driving, as this can delay reaction time and lead to accidents,” he said.
The administration said the advisory was issued to prevent road mishaps and ensure public safety during prolonged foggy conditions.
