Jhajjar, Dec. 23 — Five men were killed Tuesday evening after a truck loaded with fodder overturned onto their moving car on the Rohtak–Rewari highway near the Gurugram bypass in Jhajjar district, police said.
The victims were identified as Ghanshyam Kishori of Suhra village in Jhajjar and four labourers — Pintu, Jaibir, Akhilesh and Munna — all residents of Uttar Pradesh.
Police said Ghanshyam, a construction contractor, was driving the car and was on his way to Jhajjar after dropping the four labourers in Utlodha village when the accident occurred.
According to preliminary information, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and fall onto the car. All five occupants suffered critical injuries in the impact.
They were rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead, officials said.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident. No case had been registered at the time of filing this report.
