Mohali | January 10, 2026: Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha inaugurated six badminton courts and two volleyball courts at multiple locations in Mohali district, created using funds from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

The new facilities have come up at Phase-11, Sector-79, Sector-74 (Industrial Area), Village Dhurali and Village Mote Majra, covering both urban and rural pockets of the district.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chadha said investment in sports infrastructure was an investment in the future of the country.

“I am proud to inaugurate six badminton courts and two volleyball courts in Mohali. Investing in sports infrastructure is a big step towards a bright future for the youth,” he said.

He said accessible sports spaces help young people build discipline, teamwork and healthy routines, while also steering them away from drugs and negative influences.

“These courts are not just concrete structures. They are safe spaces where our youth can grow, compete and realise their dreams,” Chadha added.

Residents and local players welcomed the initiative, saying the facilities would encourage regular sports activity at the neighbourhood level and make organised play more accessible.

The MP said expanding community-level sports infrastructure would remain a priority in Punjab and assured residents that more such projects would be taken up using MPLADS funds in the future.
