Nabha, Feb 3: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini visited the historic Hira Mahal in Nabha to meet with the heirs of Maharaja Ripudaman Singh, utilizing the occasion to advocate for agricultural reforms. The Chief Minister made the personal visit to offer his respects to the royal family after being unable to attend the turban ceremony for the family’s fifth generation held a day earlier.
Addressing reporters in Punjabi, Saini detailed the success of his administration’s crop procurement policies, noting that Haryana currently provides a Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantee on 24 different crops. He explained that the state framework is designed to protect the financial interests of growers regardless of market fluctuations.
“If the farmers get less price for the crop in the market, then it is fully compensated by the Haryana government,” Saini said.
Reflecting on the historical connection between the neighboring states, Saini mentioned that despite the formal separation of Punjab and Haryana in 1966, the two regions remains bonded by a shared culture and deep-rooted kinship. He noted that his personal ties to Nabha run deep and called for a shift in Punjab’s leadership to ensure the public receives a corruption-free administration.
