New Delhi, Feb 14: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday reaffirmed the central government’s unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism, describing it as the “greatest enemy of humanity.” The statement came as the nation observed the seventh anniversary of the Pulwama terror attack, honoring the 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the 2019 suicide bombing.
The Home Minister mentioned that the country remains deeply indebted to the courage and ultimate sacrifice made by the security forces in the line of duty. He noted that the bravery of these personnel continues to serve as a primary source of inspiration for the nation’s ongoing efforts to maintain internal security.
“Terrorism is the greatest enemy of humanity, and India is firmly determined to eradicate it completely,” Shah said.
In a public message, the Home Minister noted that the dedication of the security forces who confront terror threats daily reinforces the government’s commitment to rooting out the menace in all its forms. He mentioned that the sacrifices made on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway would never be forgotten by the citizens of India.
The 2019 attack involved a suicide bomber from the Pakistan-based group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) targeting a security convoy. The incident led to a significant shift in India’s security policy, resulting in retaliatory airstrikes on a terror training camp in Balakot.
Officials mentioned that the government continues to prioritize a zero-tolerance approach toward cross-border terrorism. The Home Minister noted that the strength of the nation’s response to such threats is a testament to the memory of the fallen martyrs.
