New Delhi, Feb 19/l Prime Minister Narendra Modi affirmed that India views the Artificial Intelligence revolution as a matter of destiny rather than a source of fear during the India AI Impact Summit at Bharat Mandapam on Thursday.

Addressing a gathering that included French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and tech leaders Sunder Pichai and Sam Altman, the Prime Minister invited the global community to design technology within India to serve the entire world.

The Prime Minister maintained that transparency serves as the ultimate security for emerging technologies, comparing its effect to how sunlight acts as a disinfectant. He declared that while some nations treat AI as a confidential strategic asset, India believes the technology is most beneficial when codes are opened and shared. According to the Prime Minister, a shared and open AI framework is the only path toward ensuring a more secure global environment.

Concerns regarding the rise of deepfakes and fabricated content were a central part of the address. The Prime Minister asserted that such content brings instability to open societies and suggested that digital media should carry authenticity labels similar to nutrition facts on food packaging. He stated that as the volume of AI-generated text, video, and images grows, establishing clear source standards and watermarking becomes imperative to maintain public trust.

The Prime Minister also introduced the “MAANAV” vision to guide the future of the sector. He explained that this framework stands for moral and ethical systems, accountable governance, accessible and inclusive reach, and valid, legitimate legal standing. “This MAANAV vision of India will become a vital link to the welfare of mankind,” he added, noting that technology should remain a tool for human inclusion where the final decision-making power stays in human hands.
