MOHALI, March, 7: Rayat Bahra University marked National Science Day 2026 by organizing an inspiring workshop titled “Excellence Scale Up to Up Scale – Women in Leadership.” Centered on the theme of “Women in Science,” the event focused on the pivotal role women leaders play in driving scientific innovation and shaping the future of society.
The session examined how rapid advancements in technology and research have made the contributions of women more significant than ever.
Speakers addressed the historical and contemporary impact of women, noting that their leadership is a cornerstone of societal progress. The workshop aimed to encourage students to recognize these contributions as essential to the evolution of modern science.
“The theme of women’s leadership is both timely and transformative,” affirmed Prof. (Dr.) Simerjit Kaur, Dean of Students Welfare. While welcoming the guests, she maintained that the ongoing shifts in innovation require a strong presence of women at the forefront of leadership to guide future developments.
Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor of the university, declared that women have held vital roles throughout history. Referring to cultural heritage and the inherent strength of women, he asserted that their leadership qualities are fundamental to the structure of contemporary society.
The event concluded with a focus on empowering the next generation of scientific leaders, stressing that an inclusive environment is key to achieving excellence in any field.
