Abohar, March 15: The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Hanumangarh Police has arrested Vishal Kumar, an Amritsar-based operative identified as a primary arms supplier for the notorious Bambiha gang. The arrest, confirmed by authorities on Saturday, follows a major investigation into a cross-state weapons trafficking racket that moved firearms from Madhya Pradesh into the northern region.
Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Hari Shankar stated that Vishal, known by the alias ‘Bhaiya’, faces approximately 30 criminal cases including murder, robbery, and Arms Act violations. The police official affirmed that this operation has successfully exposed the entire supply chain used by the gang to procure and distribute illegal weaponry.
“Vishal is believed to be the central figure in the gang’s arms procurement network,” the SP declared. Officials asserted that the arrest was facilitated through a production warrant from the Ferozepur District Jail, following the interrogation of two previously apprehended operatives.
Security forces maintained that the investigation gained momentum on March 1 after the seizure of 11 pistols and 22 magazines from two individuals in Hanumangarh. The police asserted that Vishal had coordinated the procurement of this consignment, which was reportedly intended to fuel gang rivalries in Punjab.
