Mansa, March 17: Shubhdeep Singh, the younger brother of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, celebrated his second birthday on Tuesday amid a global outpouring of affection from fans. Popularly known as Nikka Sidhu or Junior Sidhu, the toddler has become a symbol of hope for the singer’s followers, who frequently note his striking resemblance to his elder brother.
The birthday was marked by a surge of tributes across social media platforms, where supporters shared images and videos of the child. Since his birth, the younger Shubhdeep has remained a figure of public interest, with his image famously appearing on a Times Square billboard alongside his father, Balkaur Singh, shortly after he was born.
The family welcomed the child via IVF in March 2024, nearly two years after the tragic death of Sidhu Moosewala in Mansa. Last year’s inaugural celebrations were attended by notable figures, including former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, who joined parents Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur for the festivities.
“With the blessings of the lakhs and crores who love Shubhdeep, Akal Purakh has given us a younger brother,” Balkaur Singh stated previously when describing the child’s arrival. He maintained that the support of the global Punjabi community has been a pillar of strength for the family as they continue to preserve the late singer’s legacy.
