Chandigarh, October 22 — During a Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) held today, parents and educators commended Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for his groundbreaking initiatives in the education sector with attendees expressing how these reforms are transforming lives and bridging socio-economic divides.

Mehak Sharma, a farmer’s daughter with aspirations of becoming a cardiologist, thanked the School of Eminence for its free coaching programs. “The camps conducted by the school education department have been a boon for me,” she said, praising her teachers for their support in helping her pursue her dreams.

Asha Rani, Chairperson of the School Management Committee and mother of a former Convent School student now enrolled at the School of Eminence, emphasized the positive impact of the initiative. “Textbooks and facilities are provided free of charge,” she stated. “Teachers impart both moral and academic knowledge, reaffirming my decision to choose a government school for my daughter.”

Ghanshyam, whose daughter Gurpreet is a student, noted that her ambition to become a doctor is now within reach, thanks to the Chief Minister’s focus on underprivileged sections of society. “His efforts have truly championed the cause of weaker communities,” he remarked.

Darshana Rani, a laborer’s wife, expressed her gratitude for affordable coaching that has helped her son prepare for the NDA exam. “The revitalization of the education sector by the Chief Minister has made my son’s dreams possible,” she said.

Prachi, a former Convent School student from Ganguwal, described her enrollment at the School of Eminence as life-changing. “The curriculum and environment here are essential for holistic development,” she noted.

Amanpreet Kaur, whose father suffers from heart issues, shared her newfound confidence in passing the NDA exam. “The quality education I receive enables me to compete with my convent-educated peers,” she said.

Another student from Gambhirapur, who lost her father, thanked the Punjab government for its support and praised the initiatives at the School of Eminence, including transportation facilities.

In response, Chief Minister Mann talked about the significance of the PTM as an opportunity for parents to assess the school environment and monitor their children’s progress. “Teachers can also gain insights into students’ habits and backgrounds,” he said.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing education, stating, “There’s nothing more important than the well-being of our students.” He noted the growing trust in government schools, saying they have been transformed into “temples of modern learning.” This shift has led many students from convent schools to take entrance exams for admission to the Schools of Eminence.

The Chief Minister was warmly welcomed at the event by Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains, Lok Sabha MP Malwinder Singh Kang, Secretary of Education KK Yadav, and others.
