BAHADURGARH, MAY 22 — At least six workers sustained injuries following a powerful explosion at a chemical manufacturing plant in the Modern Industrial Estate area on Friday, local authorities stated.
The afternoon blast tore through a two-story facility dedicated to manufacturing chemical-based adhesive products, causing a major structural failure that trapped several personnel under concrete debris. Emergency management services, supported by a specialized team from the State Disaster Relief Force, launched an immediate search and rescue operation to locate survivors beneath the collapsed roof.
“A team of the State Disaster Relief Force has joined the rescue operation,” stated Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayank Mishra. He noted that preliminary evaluations based on eyewitness accounts point to a structural boiler failure as the direct cause of the industrial accident.
Medical officers at the Bahadurgarh Civil Hospital received the initial wave of casualties pulled from the rubble by rescue teams. Due to the severe nature of their thermal injuries, clinicians transferred four critically injured laborers to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Rohtak for advanced treatment.
Six fire engines arrived at the scene to suppress a large fire that spread throughout the industrial plot immediately following the detonation. Law enforcement teams established a security perimeter around the Part-B zone of the industrial estate to clear transit lanes for arriving emergency vehicles as clearing operations continued into the evening.
