Chandigarh/Amritsar, June 29: All Sikh ministers and legislators representing the Aam Aadmi Party administration will present the government’s official perspective on recent anti-sacrilege legislation before the Akal Takht on Monday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann announced. Following an extensive meeting alongside AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and regional lawmakers, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state representatives are approaching the highest temporal seat of the Sikh community with humility.
The Chief Minister asserted that the administration treats the directives of the temporal authority with the utmost gravity, noting that he had previously prioritised such religious callings above state functions of the highest order. Non-Sikh legislators within the party are also preparing to submit their written representations to ensure a complete and respectful communication of the government’s unified position.
Detailing the forthcoming interactions, the Chief Minister said, “The Akal Takht is above everything for me. Its command is, was and will always remain supreme for me and my family. All those summoned will appear as humble Sikhs and present both their individual stand and the government’s position.”
Addressing a separate controversy surrounding a circulated video clip that drew severe criticism from the religious leadership, the Chief Minister clarified that a written explanation accompanied by full technical details will be presented. He maintained that the digital footage is completely fabricated and features an impersonator operating under false pretences to damage his reputation.
The Chief Minister further noted that while his administration remains dedicated to delivering transparent public welfare, opposing political parties are collectively striving to give a religious colour to purely political matters. He declared that his faith remains strong in the judgment of the public and the objective evaluation of the facts.
