New Delhi, July 8 — Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal announced plans to issue formal communications to major automobile manufacturers and the Prime Minister over the nationwide rollout of E20-blended petrol. Speaking at a press conference, the AAP leader stated his intention to seek written assurances regarding vehicle safety, fuel efficiency, and financial compensation for consumers navigating the transition to higher ethanol blends.

The initiative follows a recent joint briefing where several prominent auto manufacturers indicated that E20 fuel could be utilized safely across various vehicle generations. The AAP chief disputed these assertions, pointing to existing consumer documentation provided by the companies themselves which advises keeping ethanol content within specific thresholds to maintain optimal performance.

The planned correspondence will formally request clarification on whether manufacturers or authorities will bear responsibility for potential mechanical wear or drops in fuel economy. The central administration completed the nationwide expansion of E20 fuel availability earlier this year across the retail network.

“On Wednesday, I will write to these three companies,” the AAP leader stated during the briefing. “I will ask them why their owner’s manuals say one thing while they say something completely different during press conferences. Let them provide a written guarantee.”

The discussion also touched upon global fuel standards, with representations made regarding the gradual transition periods observed in international markets. The opposition leader maintained that advanced economies typically implement multi-decade phasing or maintain multiple fuel variants concurrently at retail stations to give citizens financial flexibility.

“The public is asking for only one thing, give people a choice,” the AAP Supremo asserted while addressing the administration. “Keep E20, but when people visit a petrol pump, they should also have the option of E0 and E10. Let each fuel have its own price.”
