New Delhi, July 29: The Delhi Cabinet granted formal approval to the Lakshmi Yojana on Wednesday, introducing targeted financial assistance programs aimed at providing monetary support to women across the National Capital Territory.

The policy framework establishes monthly direct benefit transfers of Rs 2,500 to eligible recipients, focusing primarily on economically weaker households within the city.

“Objective is women empowerment and financial inclusion,” state representatives affirmed following the administrative meeting. Officials maintained that direct funding improves household security while granting women greater autonomy over essential living expenditures.

Cabinet members stated that application channels will open through digital governance portals alongside municipal service centers to facilitate seamless registration for qualifying residents.

Government leaders declared that the initiative represents a key step toward strengthening social welfare networks and expanding long-term economic safety guarantees throughout the capital.
