Chandigarh, August 4: The Punjab Vidhan Sabha unanimously passed a resolution urging central authorities to address recurring examination scandals, paper leaks, and testing administrative failures affecting millions of aspirants across the country.
Moving the official resolution on the floor of the House, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema maintained that systemic corruption in high-stakes testing formats like NEET has severely disrupted candidate morale.
Highlighting local governance outcomes, the Finance Minister affirmed, “The Bhagwant Mann Government has provided nearly 70,000 government jobs purely on merit while Union Government has failed youth.”
The adopted resolution urges a thorough restructuring and decentralization of national testing organizations, along with the withdrawal of legal cases initiated against protesting students.
In his concluding remarks, Minister Cheema stated, “This House should send the resolution to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the Union Ministry of Education and the Prime Minister’s Office so that the concerns of the people and the aspirations of the country’s youth are formally placed before them”.
