Chandigarh, August 4: The Punjab Vidhan Sabha adopted a censure motion by voice vote regarding instances of examination paper leaks across the country, with the state government committing to forward the resolution to central authorities.
Concluding the legislative debate, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that the recurring examination irregularities have impacted millions of students nationwide and called for systemic measures to uphold credibility.
Discussing the scope of the motion, the Chief Minister affirmed, “The adopted motion will be sent to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Union Ministry of Education and the Union Ministry of Home Affairs so that the repeated interference with the country’s education system and paper leaks in examinations like NEET are brought to their notice.”
Addressing administrative performance within the state, Mann stated, “Not even a single incident of paper leak has taken place in Punjab during the last more than four years of our government.” He added that law enforcement actively detects cheating attempts, registers official cases, and takes corrective action against involved groups.
Highlighting regional educational progress, the Chief Minister asserted that recent assessments demonstrate state improvements in primary and middle-school benchmarks following investments in infrastructure and teacher training initiatives.
