New Delhi, August 5: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju delivered a sharp critique in the Lok Sabha against the Congress, Communist Party of India, and Samajwadi Party, accusing them of maintaining an anti-religious stance and politicizing matters connected to the Ayodhya Ram Temple. Speaking on the floor of the House amid ongoing parliamentary disruptions, the Minister pointed out that these political groups have consistently opposed key religious developments and previously wore black bands to express opposition during the construction of the temple. Rijiju asserted that the political demonstration staged within the Parliament complex reflected disrespect and called for a nationwide public apology from the involved parties.
“Congress, CPI, and SP are anti-Lord Ram. They have always taken an anti-Lord Ram stand. They always opposed the existence of Lord Ram,” Minister Rijiju declared during proceedings. The parliamentary exchange occurred alongside broader discussions between the government and Opposition leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, regarding legislative business and the Delimitation Bill. The Minister affirmed that while parliamentary debates remain essential, opposing religious sentiments for political narrative damages public trust, reiterating the demand that the parties seek forgiveness for their actions.
