LUCKNOW, AUGUST 19: The state administration has expanded its financial security measures for agricultural households by increasing the budget for the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana from ₹1,050 crore to ₹1,150 crore for the 2026-27 financial year.
The scheme, in place since September 14, 2019, provides up to ₹5 lakh in financial assistance to farming families facing accidental death or disability. Coverage extends to land-owning farmers, earning family members dependent on agricultural income, sharecroppers, and landless agricultural laborers.
Over 38,000 dependent families have received benefits across the state. During the 2025-26 financial year, the full allocation of ₹1,050 crore supported roughly 21,659 dependent families. For 2026-27, the initial allocations total ₹813.81 crore from an approved ₹862.50 crore release, aiding approximately 17,152 families so far.
The Revenue Department manages operations through a dedicated online portal integrated with the state tracking dashboard. District authorities receive regular guidance to ensure transparent execution and prompt processing for eligible households.
