Barnala, Sept 13: Gunshots were fired at the Pharwahi village residence of Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu on the outskirts of Barnala late Saturday night, when three unidentified masked individuals on a motorcycle discharged at least six rounds targeting the property entrance. Local authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident, though bullet marks were left on the main gate.
The artist was reportedly abroad for professional commitments at the time of the event, though family members were inside the premises. Barnala Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sarfaraz Alam affirmed that a formal investigation has commenced, stating that law enforcement is currently verifying the details and working to identify the individuals involved.
Security personnel previously assigned to the artist remain deployed, following prior security assessments. Official sources noted that past threats and extortion attempts against the singer had led to police action earlier this year, and investigators are reviewing recent CCTV footage and circulating digital media as part of ongoing inquiries.
