Haryana CM pays tribute to mother of his OSD Dr Prabhleen Singh and sister of Padma Shri Jagjit Singh Dardi at Antim Ardas in Patiala

Patiala, September 13: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday paid rich tributes to Mrs Inderjit Kaur Harry, sister of Chardikla Group Chairman Padma Shri Dr Jagjit Singh Dardi and mother of his OSD Dr Prabhleen Singh, describing her as an “encyclopedia” whose knowledge and writings would remain a valuable legacy for future generations.

The Antim Ardas of Mrs Inderjit Kaur, wife of late Harminder Singh Harry, was held at Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib in Patiala. A large number of religious, political and social leaders from Punjab, Haryana and other states attended the prayer service and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Saini said Mrs Inderjit Kaur had devoted considerable time to reading, writing and documenting knowledge. Her extensive literary work and documentation, he said, made her a veritable encyclopedia for the coming generations.

The Chief Minister said the presence of elderly members holds immense importance in every family, particularly the presence of a mother. He stressed the need to respect and serve elders, saying that serving them was akin to finding the Divine in their presence.

Saini expressed deep condolences to the family and prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give the family strength to accept His will.

Among those who paid their respects were Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr Balbir Singh, former Jathedar Giani Raghvir Singh, Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Committee president Jathedar Jagjit Singh Jhinda, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, former Vice-Chancellor Dr Jaspal Singh, former MP Tarlochan Singh, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, MLA Dev Mann, former Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra, former MP Professor Prem Singh Chandumajra and former SGPC presidents Professor Kirpal Singh Badungar and Gobind Singh Longowal.

Several religious leaders, Sikh scholars, social activists, political representatives and members of Sikh gurdwara management committees from Punjab, Haryana and Delhi also attended the Antim Ardas.

Among others present were renowned actor Binnu Dhillon, actor Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi, Punjabi artist Pammi Bai, Special DGP (Punjab) AS Rai, Dr Raj Nehru, Dr Sarbjinder Singh, Dr Jagdeep Singh, Professor Balkar Singh, former Chairman Surjit Singh Ablowal, Mahant Karamjit Singh, Baba Raj Singh Kaljharani, Baba No Nihal Singh, Sant Shamsher Singh Sardulgarh, Varinder Singh Walia, Kuldeep Kaur Tohra and Harinderpal Singh Tohra.

A large number of representatives and office-bearers associated with Sikh religious institutions, political organisations and social bodies also joined the gathering to offer their condolences to the Dardi family.
