Mansa, Sept 18: The Mansa Sessions Court has fixed October 9 to hear arguments regarding a production warrant application for gangster Anmol Bishnoi, an accused in the murder of singer Shubhdeep Singh, alias Sidhu Moosewala. The development follows the submission of an official response by state authorities regarding the transfer of the accused from Delhi’s Tihar Jail to local custody.
Legal counsel for Anmol Bishnoi originally submitted the petition on February 27, seeking to formally bring the accused into custody in connection with the ongoing murder trial. During the recent proceedings, prosecution witness Sub-Inspector Gurlal Singh appeared for examination before the court deferred further cross-examination to the upcoming October date. Additionally, the court issued directives summoning multiple other prosecution witnesses who failed to appear for the scheduled hearing.
Authorities maintain that trial proceedings continue for all named co-conspirators, with several accused individuals produced virtually via video link from central correctional facilities. The court will consider the arguments from both prosecution and defense teams next month to decide on issuing the formal production warrant for the pending case.
