According to police officials, the assailants opened fire on Sandhu before fleeing the scene. He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Law enforcement authorities have initiated a murder investigation and constituted special police teams to trace and apprehend the perpetrators.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sirivennela stated that investigating teams have gathered initial leads and are actively pursuing them to resolve the case. Police officials affirmed that the primary motive behind the target attack remains under investigation, adding that no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.
The victim, who commanded a follower base of over 2.26 lakh on Instagram and featured in the Punjabi film ‘Oye Bhole Oye’, had previously been involved in a public controversy in July when a local individual objected to his social media content, alleging it was misleading to youth. Meanwhile, senior political leaders raised concerns regarding the state of public safety in the region following the incident, with former minister Raj Kumar Verka maintaining that the state administration has failed to ensure basic security for residents and asserting that accountability must be fixed at the highest governance level.
