Chandigarh, Oct 23: The Punjab Vidhan Sabha hosted students from Guru Gobind Singh International School, Faridkot, offering them an immersive look into legislative proceedings, budget approvals, and public accountability. Interacting with the visiting youth, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann exhorted students to pursue their ambitions with integrity and determination, emphasizing that ability and hard work—rather than influence or recommendations—drive success in the state.

Detailing the administration’s policy vision, Chief Minister Mann highlighted key welfare initiatives, including transparent public recruitment and the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, which provides health coverage of up to ₹10 lakh to protect families from heavy medical expenses. Encouraging students to aim high in fields like civil services, law, medicine, and defense, the Chief Minister urged them to start working toward their goals immediately instead of waiting for ideal conditions.

Explaining the democratic role of the state assembly, Chief Minister Mann noted that legislative institutions belong directly to the people. Sharing his personal journey, including early electoral setbacks, he quoted former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to remind students that failures are merely opportunities to learn and bounce back stronger. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan was also present during the interactive session.
