Hoshiarpur, Nov 2: Enforcement Directorate officials initiated a search operation at the Hoshiarpur residence of former Punjab Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora early Monday morning.
Teams from the agency’s Chandigarh office arrived at the premises around 5 am, establishing a security perimeter before commencing their work. The operation continued through the morning hours.
Advocate HS Saini, counsel for the former minister, affirmed that he met with the visiting team. He noted that while officials requested specific documents, they did not state the precise focus of the search.
The development follows an earlier search by the Income Tax Department at the same premises, which concluded after approximately 62 hours. Following that previous process, Arora maintained that the inquiry related to his son’s real estate enterprise and stated that officials found no irregularities.
The Enforcement Directorate had not released a formal statement regarding the matter at the time of reporting.
