Moga Police Freeze ₹8.69 Crore Assets of Alleged Drug Smugglers

Moga, 15 December 2024: In a major move under the government’s crackdown on drug trafficking, Moga Police froze assets worth ₹8,68,94,194 linked to alleged drug smugglers in the district.

District Police Chief Ajay Gandhi stated the action follows directives from DIG Faridkot Range Ashwani Kapoor, who is spearheading an anti-drug campaign in the region.

Properties seized include 19 assets located across City Moga, Dharamkot, Kotaise Khan, Mehna, Fatehgarh Panjtoor, Nihal Singhwala, Badhanikalan, Ajitwal, and Samalsar. Gandhi revealed that these assets are tied to suspects arrested in 25 drug-related cases.

Approval for the freeze came from the competent authority in the Finance Department of the Government of India.

Gandhi underlined the continuation of stringent action against drug smugglers, reaffirming the commitment to ensuring no offender evades the law.
