Gurugram, 18 December 2024—Rapper Badshah was issued a challan of Rs 15,500 by the Gurugram traffic police for driving on the wrong side of the road in a vehicle not registered in his name. The incident occurred on Sunday when the artist attended Punjabi singer Karan Aujla’s concert at Airia Mall on Sohna Road.
A massive traffic jam near the venue prompted the rapper’s convoy to take the wrong side of the road. Videos of the incident, shared by bystanders on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), sparked public outrage. Following the video’s circulation, Gurugram traffic police intervened.
In an official statement on X, the police confirmed the action. “A challan has been issued for driving on the wrong side, rash driving, and playing loud music in the vehicle,” said Traffic Inspector Devender Kumar.
Jai Ram Criticizes Himachal Government Over Governance Issues
Bilaspur—Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram lashed out at the Congress government, questioning its priorities and governance as he criticized recent celebratory events held in the disaster-hit state.
Speaking in Bilaspur, Jai Ram questioned the state government’s decision to organize ceremonies while thousands of families impacted by natural disasters await compensation. “The government promised ₹7 lakh for each affected family, yet many haven’t even seen a patwari visit their homes. Amid such crises, how can celebrations be justified?” he asked.
The BJP leader accused the Congress-led government of shutting down 1,500 public institutions and terminating over 10,000 outsourced employees within two years. “Those still working haven’t received salaries for months. The government continues to mislead people with unfulfilled guarantees,” he added.
Citing rising taxes, Jai Ram claimed that the Congress government has imposed heavy financial burdens on basic utilities like electricity and water. He also accused the state government of avoiding accountability, reducing the upcoming winter session to four days instead of the usual week-long discussions.
Jai Ram further alleged a targeted campaign against BJP leaders and officials who served during his tenure. “Complaints suggest false cases are being fabricated to implicate BJP members and former officers. If there were legitimate issues, why wait two years to initiate investigations? This selective targeting is unacceptable,” he said.
The BJP leader vowed to press the government for answers during the winter session, asserting that such practices undermine public trust and governance.
