Zirakpur, 24 February 2025 — A road accident near Tipra Bypass, Pinjore, claimed the lives of four teenagers early Sunday morning. The victims, aged 17-18, were returning from Parwanoo after celebrating a friend’s birthday when their car crashed into a stationary truck following a tyre burst.
The deceased have been identified as Adhyayan Bansal from Dhakoli, Adeep Ashraf Ansari from Peer Muchhalla, Zirakpur, Chirag Malik from Hisar, and Vaibhav Yadav from Sector 5, MDC, Panchkula. Vaibhav was the son of Vipin Yadav, additional advocate general of Punjab.
According to Nihar Jeet Singh, a friend traveling in another vehicle, the group was in two cars—a Baleno and a Hyundai Verna. The Verna, driven by Ansari, was ahead when its front right tyre burst around 5:15 a.m., causing the car to lose control, hit the divider, and crash into a truck parked on the roadside.
Locals rushed to help, pulling the injured from the mangled vehicle and transporting them to Government Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. However, doctors declared all four victims dead on arrival.
Nihar Jeet Singh, who was in the Baleno, blamed the accident on the “improperly” parked truck. “Had the truck not been parked haphazardly, the four lives could have been saved,” he stated, demanding action against the truck driver.
A police team, led by Sub-Inspector Arjun Singh, arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. Based on Nihar Jeet’s statement, an FIR has been registered at Pinjore police station under Sections 106, 285, and 324(4) of the BNS against the truck driver, who is yet to be arrested.

The crash adds to the growing number of road fatalities in Panchkula, where deaths have risen from 103 in 2023 to 109 so far in 2024.
