Panchkula, March 3 — Police detained a biker near Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s convoy in Panchkula on Monday after he ignored instructions to stop, officials said.
The incident occurred outside Red Bishop resort, where the Chief Minister was attending a pre-budget meeting with BJP MLAs and officials ahead of the 2025-26 Haryana budget presentation next week. Saini’s convoy was stationary at the time.
“The man came on a bike, was signaled to stop but continued moving. When stopped, he argued with the police. We have detained him for questioning,” a police officer said.
According to police, the man initially claimed he had come for tea at the hotel and was unaware of the Chief Minister’s presence.
“He thought police were stopping him unnecessarily. We are verifying his statements. He is from Hisar and currently resides in Pinjore,” the officer added.
