Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu mounted a strong critique against Congress Punjab in-charge Sachin Pilot during a press conference in Chandigarh. Addressing reporters, Pannu maintained that visiting opposition leaders must clarify their party’s historical standing and address lingering concerns regarding past administrative decisions before seeking support from the public. He asserted that traditional political figures who previously claimed leadership roles have struggled to maintain party stability, leading central organizers to step in.

Pannu further questioned the political patronage historically extended to individuals linked to the 1984 violence, including figures like Sajjan Kumar and Kamal Nath. He declared that the people of Punjab have not forgotten the events of that period and affirmed that opposition representatives need to explain why those named in connection with the incidents received party protection over the decades. He stated that accountability remains an essential prerequisite for any political outreach in the state.
